University of Louisville, Kentucky
Information and Registration
The 26th Advanced Workshop on Gynecologic Laparoscopic Anatomy and Minimally Invasive Surgery with Emphasis on Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and Treatment of Endometriosis is a comprehensive, two-day course designed for gynecologists in practice and in training who are ready to elevate their laparoscopic skills. Participants learn directly from AAGL fellowship-trained laparoscopic surgeons through a combination of focused didactics, intensive laparoscopic suturing drills, and closely supervised cadaveric labs, with no more than three participants per cadaver to maximize hands-on experience. The curriculum emphasizes pelvic sidewall dissection, identification of the ureter and retroperitoneal vessels, preparation for laparoscopic hysterectomy, pelvic floor reconstruction procedures, and laparoscopic resection of deep infiltrating endometriosis, ensuring that attendees leave with practical, reproducible operative techniques they can immediately apply in the OR.
2025 Louisville Workshop
This workshop is distinctive in its depth, structure, and faculty engagement, offering participants the opportunity to operate, assist, and observe in a rotational format that reinforces both anatomy and technique. Attendees will refine their ergonomics and suturing skills, practice management of complex pathology such as frozen pelvis and apical prolapse, and review strategies for preventing and managing complications including bowel, bladder, and ureteral injury. In addition, the course provides up to 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and fulfills ABOG’s MOC Part IV Improvement in Medical Practice requirement for approved simulation courses, making it an ideal choice for surgeons seeking both advanced training and meaningful maintenance of certification credit.
