The first patient I cared for with Dr. Tim McKinney in Grenada had been living with a 27-week-size fibroid uterus for years. Like so many women on the island, she had simply learned to live with the pain, pressure, and heavy bleeding because advanced surgical care was not readily available. After a challenging minimally invasive hysterectomy, she was smiling, walking the halls, and ready to go home the very next day. At that moment, I was reminded once again why I keep returning to Grenada.
