This year, the Expo proudly introduces the English version of the Advanced Anatomy and Surgical Techniques for the Management of Deeply Infiltrating Endometriosis workshop, a significant expansion responding to the enthusiastic requests from our English-speaking participants. This pivotal session aims to advance gynecologic surgeons’ expertise in tackling complex endometriosis, focusing on mastering nerve-sparing techniques, and addressing the intricate challenges of diaphragmatic, bowel, and ureteric endometriosis. Through a blend of didactic learning and practical, hands-on experience in the cadaver lab, participants will gain invaluable skills and insights into optimizing patient outcomes in these complex cases.
The Expo also proudly presents the 3rd Annual Fundamentals of Advanced Gynecology Surgery workshop in Spanish, laying the foundational knowledge essential for advanced pelvic surgery. Furthermore, the 7th Hands-On Advanced Neuroanatomy of the Pelvis course, offered in English, caters to the advanced learning needs of Gynecologic, Urologic, and Colorectal Surgeons. This course seamlessly integrates with the multidisciplinary didactic and hands-on cadaver course, focusing on the pelvic, hip, spine, and core neuroanatomy. This unique setup encourages a dynamic exchange of perspectives on neuropathic pain and surgical techniques across specialties.
The advancements in retroperitoneal laparoscopic techniques underscore the Expo’s commitment to pioneering surgical education. Live dissections have three screens: one showing the laparoscopic image, one outside camera and a third has didactic anatomy schemes presented by a third faculty in simulcast.
“The policy of only two attendants per station ensures that every attendant makes the most of their time, practicing all of the proposed dissections, as opposed to doing some and only observing others, which happens in cadaver labs where three or more share the same specimen,” emphasizes Jonathon Solnik, workshop Co-Director.
