This year, the University of Louisville will host the 25th Advanced Workshop on Gynecologic Laparoscopic Anatomy & Minimally Invasive Surgery on June 13-14 in Louisville, Kentucky. Celebrating 27 years since the world’s first laparoscopic cadaver course, organized by AAGL and the University of Louisville in 1998, this workshop has become a cornerstone of gynecologic surgical education. Over the years, it has welcomed more than 1,000 participants from 42 countries, offering practical training that has elevated surgical expertise worldwide.
Designed as a hands-on experience, the workshop provides participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of pelvic anatomy, retroperitoneal dissection, and laparoscopic suturing. The Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Course and Cadaver Lab kicks off with a half-day, optional pre-course Hysteroscopy Lab on January 9th, followed by a half day of the main conference. Hysteroscopy Lab registration will be separate from the main event. Some of the topics in the lab include office hysteroscopy, polypectomy, visual biopsy, visual management of RPOC, complications, and will end with a dry lab. The main conference will cover topics such as anatomy, electric devices, hysterectomy, optimizing surgical outcomes, laparoscopic complications, fertility tips and tricks, suturing, knot tying and an exhibit hall.
