Welcoming the Next Editor-in-Chief of JMIG
On behalf of the JMIG Editor-in-Chief Search Committee, I am pleased to announce the selection of Magdy P. Milad, MD, as the incoming Editor-in-Chief of JMIG. The search attracted an impressive number of highly qualified applicants, reflecting both the strength of our field and the importance of JMIG to the AAGL community.
Dr. Milad is the Albert B. Gerbie Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and serves as Chief of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Northwestern Medicine. He is a widely respected academic clinician, educator, and contributor to our specialty, with an extensive scholarly portfolio spanning minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, endometriosis, fibroids, and surgical education. He also brings a long history of service to AAGL and its fellowship programs, including leadership on the CBGF Board and many years directing fellowship site review and compliance efforts.
The selection followed a thoughtful and comprehensive process made possible by the exceptional dedication of our Search Committee members: Drs. Errico Zupi, Erin Carey Teeter, Dan Breitkopf, Megan Orlando, Michael Hibner, and Linda Bradley. Their insight, candor, and commitment were invaluable throughout the application review and interview process, and their collective input will help shape the next chapter of JMIG.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Tommaso Falcone, who generously stepped forward to serve as Interim Editor-in-Chief during this important transition. His leadership, steadiness, and commitment ensured continuity and preserved the journal’s momentum.
We look forward to welcoming Dr. Milad into this role and to the continued evolution of JMIG as a trusted, rigorous, and forward-looking voice for our specialty.
