IMPACT: Advancing Women’s Healthcare Together
I sure hope you’re planning to be in New Orleans Nov 16-19 for the 53rd Global Congress on MIGS. Our theme this year is “IMPACT: Advancing Women’s Healthcare Together.” The Scientific Program Committee is working diligently to put together a spectacular program that highlights how far we’ve come in changing the paradigm for gynecologic surgical care while focusing on where we can continue to push forward the boundaries of discovery.
We are at an exciting crossroads as an organization. With the launch of the EMIGS program, we have an opportunity to extend our teaching efforts and impact the adoption of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery truly globally. As we begin the journey toward possible subspecialty recognition, we have an opportunity to impact the best practices for surgical care across the spectrum of women’s health.
While we look forward to celebrating how far we’ve come, we recognize that the great successes of the world are achieved not by being where the action is, but by being where the action needs to be. It is imperative we focus on where we are going, and should be going, to continue to move the women’s healthcare needle. The 53rd Global Congress on MIGS will provide stimulating General Session presentations, thought-provoking Debates to help identify the issues we need to clarify on controversial topics, and Surgical Tutorials to demonstrate cutting-edge options for surgical technique. And, of course, we are counting on your submissions to celebrate the impact we are continuing to have on women’s health worldwide.
This year, we are building a little “downtime” in the program to give you more opportunities for networking, visiting the latest advances being offered by our supporting vendors, or just digesting the wealth of information you will be encountering.
Finally, we will take some time to enjoy being together – reuniting with old friends and colleagues and making new ones, while we enjoy the food and hospitality of one of my favorite cities in the US. So …laissez les bons temps rouler as they say in the Crescent City …let the good times roll, but be prepared to learn a few things, too! See you in NOLA!
