Thank You
In the past, as the AAGL Medical Director, I have written about topics that I felt would be of interest to the AAGL membership. Since this is the last “Focus on the AAGL” that I will be writing, I am taking the liberty of expressing to all of you, my colleagues, my gratitude for the opportunity to have been the AAGL’s Medical Director since 1998.
Since I joined the AAGL in 1971 I have seen the transformation of an organization composed of a small group of early adapters of a new surgical instrument to a worldwide organization which has become a leader in surgical care for gynecological patients. The success of the AAGL would not have occurred without the vision of its founder, Jordan Phillips, the leadership of its many Board of Directors, the office staff under the direction of Linda Michels, and the members of the AAGL who have embraced the concepts of minimally invasive surgery for the benefit of their patients.
To have been a part of the AAGL leadership is an honor for which I am deeply indebted to all. I am delighted to see Linda Bradley as our new Medical Director and I look forward to continuing to be one of the many active members of the AAGL.
