Oh, Canada! The 2019 AAGL Global Congress on MIGS
On behalf of the 2019 Scientific Program Committee, I am honored to invite you to beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for the 2019 AAGL Global Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery!
The goal of this meeting is to educate and inspire, surrounding the theme of Be a Surgical “Multiplier” in MIGS—Inspire Brilliance Through Teamwork. We each become exponentially better and more effective through partnership with our worldwide colleagues, surgical teams, mentor/mentees, and industry partners. We are poised for that professional growth at the 48th Annual Congress.
We have gathered a dynamic team to comprise the Scientific Program Committee: Douglas Brown, New York; Nicole Mahnert, Michigan; Shanti Mohling, Tennessee; Marie Paraiso (consultant), Ohio; Shailesh Puntambekar, India; Matthew Siedhoff, California; Sony Singh, Toronto; Amanda Yunker, Tennessee; Linda Bradley, Medical Director, Ohio; Linda Michels, Executive Director, California. Ideas are already flowing and we are all excited to meet in January 2019 to set forth our plan for the Congress.
We look to you, our Members, for suggestions on how to best serve your needs. We are excited to use ideas from the past as well as to innovate for the future—and we ask for your help and thoughts to make this the best meeting ever. Our goal is to spark your interest as we stimulate thoughts and partnership through lectures, abstracts, debates, video conferences, keynote addresses, and more, so we are actively soliciting your ideas.
Please forward your recommendations to Art Arellano via email to aarellano@aagl.org by Friday, December 21, 2018 and include:
- One suggested title for the course.
- A short statement of need: The statement of need should answer the question “What conditions, issues, or problems exist that make it necessary or advantageous for physicians to participate in this activity.” Please provide one or two sentences for your suggested title stating the identified gap to be addressed. One published article supporting this statement is required.
- One to two learning objectives: State what the attendee should learn or be able to do or do better as a result of participation.

Thank you in advance for your input. I look forward to seeing you November 9-13, 2019 in beautiful Vancouver!
