SEGi: Italian Society of Gynecological Endoscopy
SEGi was established in 1987 as SIELG—the Italian Society of Endoscopy and Laser Therapy in Gynecology—and in 2000 changed its name and became the Italian Society of Gynecological Endoscopy, or SEGi.
SEGi encourages the exchange of clinical experience and scientific investigations among gynecologic professionals in the field of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. The society supports scientifically valid research and evaluation of endoscopic techniques in MIGS, proposes training models in gynecological endoscopy and related techniques, and fosters collaboration with national and international companies.
With a membership of about 500, SEGi offers discounted registration for the SEGi National Congress and for all the training courses sponsored by SEGi as well as those of the ESGE and AAGL. Members enjoy active participation in the decision-making processes of the Association and even have a reserved network in which they can communicate with other registered professionals and access practice-related news and information. The SEGi website (www.segionline.it) and newsletter keep members informed and serve as a way to promote events.
SEGi boasts an impassioned Board of Directors, including President Massimo Candiani of Milan; Immediate Past President Mario Malzoni of Avellino; Vice President Enrico Vizza of Rome; General Secretary Antonio Maiorana of Palermo; Treasurer Valentino Bergamini of Verona; and Directors Errico Zupa of Rome, Renato Seracchioli of Bologna, and Carlo De Angelis of Rome.
SEGi will hold a special edition of its 2019 Annual Meeting in partnership with the AAGL. The “Surgical Renaissance in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Worldwide Congress”— or “WOW”—is scheduled from May 8 to May 11, 2019 in Florence Italy. Special pre-congress sessions will also take place in Siena, Pisa, and Florence. All are invited to learn more and to register by clicking here!
