2nd Global Congress on Hysteroscopy: Where Education Creates Transformation
I was able to participate in the Global Congress of Hysteroscopy (CGH) as a speaker. My lectures included: “My Hysteroscope is My Stethoscope and Hysteroscopy Findings after Uterine Fibroid Embolization.” I was happy to represent our organization. The 2nd Global Congress of Hysteroscopy 2019 was held at the Barcelona International Convention Center in sunny Barcelona April 30-May 3, 2019. It included a robust pre-congress that offered hands on opportunities. The main congress had educational tracks for beginners, advanced and expert hysteroscopist’s. Free communications, posters, abstracts, and top-notch lectures with phenomenal videos were incorporated throughout all sessions.
Co-chairs included: Drs. Sergio Haimovich, Luis Alonso Pacheco and Attilio Di Spiezio and an international board including all international endoscopy societies (ESGE, AAGL, ISGE, APAGE, and MESGE). Their goals were to have participants learn about the latest techniques, clinical advances, demonstrate emerging technology, and showcase the international evolution in the practice and treatment of endometrial pathology. We have witnessed a worldwide leap of interest and passion in performing diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy. There were 974 attendants from 71 different countries. This represented a 27% increase in participants from the previous Global Congress in Hysteroscopy two years ago. In addition, thought leaders from 5 continents provided a comprehensive update on hysteroscopy and ART, diagnostic and operative surgical techniques, fibroid evaluation, uterine malformations, adenomyosis, oncology, pregnancy related complications, adhesions/infections, fertility, fluid management, micro hysteroscopy, colposcopy, and surgical techniques “master class.” The CGH was more than science. The secret sauce of this meeting was passion and friendship. It provided great opportunities for networking and friendship within a conducive environment and much tapas. It was awesome to witness the number of young engaged hysteroscopists attending the meeting.
Let’s continue to expand hysteroscopy worldwide. Let’s continue to expand the indications for hysteroscopy by making it the RIGHT decision, in the RIGHT moment and for the RIGHT patient, and RIGHT in your office. Let’s join our hysteroscopes together worldwide. Can you imagine this image? We hope that you will expand your professional hysteroscopy links in your community and around the world. See you in two years for the next global congress.
