Submit Your Course Proposals For the 2024 Scientific Program Now!
The theme of the 53rd Global Congress is IMPACT: Advancing Women’s Healthcare Together. To develop an innovative, robust, thought-provoking program for the 2024 Global Congress, one that will challenge us to grow as surgeons and further the impact that our specialty has on women’s healthcare throughout the world, I urge you to share your expertise by submitting a course proposal for consideration in the 2024 Scientific Program.
As we begin the journey of subspecialty recognition by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the most significant consideration by the governing bodies that control our fate will be demonstration of how we advance the body of knowledge regarding gynecologic care. This includes but also extends beyond laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to incorporate the fundamental understanding and comprehensive care of women with complex disease processes like endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal bleeding, ovarian masses, pelvic pain, etc.
Our members are collaborating like never before with colleagues in other areas of women’s health to understand how we can be more effective but also what we can bring to the proverbial (operating) table to improve women’s health. We need to celebrate how far AAGL has come in redefining standards and expectations of care in gynecologic surgery and the impact MIGS has had on women’s healthcare. However, we also need to focus on where we need to go from here.
Please keep this overarching theme in mind when submitting your proposals. The Scientific Program Committee will meet in January to commence planning. Completed course proposals must be submitted by January 15, 2024.
