What’s New with SurgeryU!
As we bid farewell to the long days of summer, our anticipation for AAGL’s favorite time of the year couldn’t be higher – I’m talking about the upcoming AAGL Global Congress in the heart of the USA’s Music City Center, Nashville, Tennessee. Everyone at AAGL has been working tirelessly to prepare for our main event of the year, and we’re eager to see all of you there to connect, learn, and grow together.
Over the past nine months, our dedicated SurgeryU Board has been hard at work, meeting monthly. The culmination of our efforts brings some exciting news. In the coming months, we will be rolling out a new and improved SurgeryU for all our members to utilize. It has a fresh new look, but more importantly, it has increased functionality and user-friendliness. Taking into account the invaluable feedback from our members, we’ve implemented numerous changes and upgrades that we can’t wait for you to explore. Imagine a platform like YouTube, but exclusively dedicated to incredible, peer-reviewed gynecological surgery content! We’ve created user-friendly channels for each Special Interest Group (SIG), along with EMIGS, FMIGS, and Resident channels, making a wealth of video education readily and easily available at your fingertips. Take a peek at the home page below!
Now, let’s talk about SurgeryU’s “The Mind of a Surgeon” video contest! The number of submissions was truly impressive, especially for its inaugural year, and the quality is nothing short of amazing. Soon, we’ll be selecting the top four videos, which will be featured on various AAGL social media platforms. Among these top four, the winner will not only gain fame and recognition but will also receive two tickets to the energy-filled Presidential Wrap-Up Party! The winner will be determined 50% by the number of “likes” from the audience and 50% expert review, so creators, make sure to work your influencing and reposting magic, and members, be sure to show your support by “liking” your favorite submissions!
And lastly, AAGL is proud to announce the start of a SurgeryU Instagram account, @SurgeryU_AAGL. This handle will serve as your gateway to all SurgeryU related updates and content! Please follow @SurgeryU_AAGL.
On behalf of the entire SurgeryU board, I eagerly look forward to seeing everyone in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee. Our Board is always on the lookout for more fantastic content, so don’t be shy to ever reach out to us for suggestions or tips. Don’t be surprised while at the Global Congress if you’re approached by one of our board members—it just means your work was that great! Let’s make this AAGL Global Congress an unforgettable experience!
