AAGL International Congress and Anatomy Workshop in Italy
Italy is the place to be early this summer! You are invited to two exceptional learning opportunities thoughtfully planned to allow for attendance at both events in one trip to beautiful Italy. GynItaly24 will be held May 28-31, 2024 in Salerno and will be closely followed June 3-6, 2024 by the 4th ISSA International Hands-On Intensive Master in Basic and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Anatomy of the Female Pelvis and Techniques in Verona.
Chaired by Dr. Mario Malzoni, and Co-Chairs Drs. Mauricio Abrão and Arnaud Wattiez, GynItaly24 brings together the best worldwide experts to share exciting results and to build new collaborations among the Global Community of Gynaecological Surgeons for an outstanding education and networking opportunity.
Following the success of our International Congress Gynitaly23 on Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery in Rome in 2023, we are thrilled to announce the return of GynItaly24. GynItaly23 was an amazing event with the participation of 1169 gynecologists from 70 nations and 150 faculty members from 26 countries who shared their experience with Keynote lectures, debates, round tables, and more than 10 hours of Live Surgeries. Abstract presentations, video sessions, and industry symposia enriched the intense activities of those vibrant days. The first edition provided an unparalleled platform for the exchange of groundbreaking ideas, techniques, and innovations in minimally invasive gynecological surgery, and the decision to schedule GynItaly24 was driven by the overwhelming enthusiasm and positive feedback we received from our esteemed attendees and speakers.
The agenda includes plenary sessions, live surgery, keynote lectures, debates, symposia, and breakout sessions, as well as abstract presentations (oral & video) with a poster exhibition. In addition, we will hold five pre-congress courses:
- COURSE 1: Mastering complex deep endometriosis surgery: A practical video session course.
- COURSE 2: Ultrasound in gynecology – START FROM THE ESSENTIALS. Interactive course with master lectures and practical session.
- COURSE 3: Ultrasound and MRI in gynecology – MASTERCLASS IN ADVANCED DISEASES. Interactive course with master lectures and practical session.
- COURSE 4: Urological aspects of endometriosis: Diagnosis, Medical management, and Surgical management. A multidisciplinary course.
- COURSE 5: Exploring cutting-edge innovations in robotic surgery: Advancing precision and efficiency with a hands-on session.
The three days of Congress will be a real marathon of Live Surgeries performed by Laparoscopy, Robotic, Hysteroscopy and V-Notes with additional lessons on anatomy with live cadaveric dissection. The main topics will include Endometriosis, Benign Pathologies and Oncology but we will also discuss the latest and sensible challenges such as the potential use of Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Green Sustainable Surgery.
Salerno, with its rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture, provides the perfect backdrop for our congress. This city, nestled near the “Divina” Amalfi Coast, offers not only a picturesque setting but also a welcoming atmosphere that will undoubtedly enhance the networking and collaborative spirit of our gathering.
Together, let’s continue to push the boundaries of minimally invasive gynecological surgery and make lasting contributions to women’s healthcare worldwide. Don’t miss this International Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery in the magnificent city of Salerno. Your participation will help us in making Gynitaly24 great!
After GynItaly, make your way to the beautiful city of Verona, Italy for the start of the 4th ISSA International Hands-On Intensive Master in Basic and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Anatomy of the Female Pelvis and Techniques to be held on June 3rd – 6th, 2024.
The Scientific Program Chairs, Drs. Marcello Ceccaroni and Shailesh P. Puntambekar, will be delighted, together with an outstanding international faculty, to share their lifetime passion for surgical anatomy and to pass on their knowledge gained through scientific projects on nerve-sparing radical surgery, parametrial vascular dissection, and uterine transplants.
The scientific program foresees daily live surgery sessions that will be broadcasted from two operating rooms at the IRCCS “Sacro Cuore-Don Calabria” Hospital in Negrar di Valpolicella (Verona) and from other Italian Hospitals.
The daily agenda will be filled by an intense schedule of nerve-sparing approaches for deep endometriosis eradication with multivisceral surgeries, gynecologic oncology procedures, and different types and settings of benign surgical pelvic procedures, that will be performed by Drs Ceccaroni, Puntambekar and the faculty of other Masters of Surgery worldwide.
The main core of the international meeting will be a daily intensive hands-on surgical experience on cadaveric specimens at the “ICLO Teaching and Research Center” in Verona. Every working station will be arranged as a real operating field and equipped with full HD, 4K and 3D scopes, where expert tutors will guide the participants’ gestures starting from the basics of pelvic anatomy to reproduce the procedures seen during the live surgical morning sessions. At every station, the hands-on dissections will be tailored to basic, intermediate, and advanced level of the attendees. The official language of the Course will be English but also Spanish, Arabian, Hindi and other different Indian languages will be offered during the Cadaver Labs.
A permanent satellite live and virtual video session will include a wide library composed by all the clips received from the top surgeons all over the world. A full day will then be dedicated to an intensive laparoscopic suturing master session, both on cadaver and on pelvic trainers with wide audio-visual support of movies and theoretical lessons.
All of these scientific activities will be merged with sessions of Valpolicella wines and food tasting as well as cultural tours in the astonishing city of Verona and Lake Garda.
For all our friends and colleagues that might not be able to reach the venue in person, a virtual version of this outstanding hybrid course will be offered and broadcasted. The choice will be offered to participate live, to follow the course and the live surgeries and getting the link to the lectures and all the clips of the surgical library.
So, with the high hope to hug each other and to be all together, live or virtually, Marcello and Shailesh are waiting for you! Spend a lovely week in the one they call “The City of Love” June 3rd – 6th, 2024 in Verona (the city Roman history), or on the web!
As you consider your summer schedule, plan to experience Italy with your colleagues and friends from around the world at these two exceptional AAGL events!
