AAGL’s 24th Annual Workshop on MIGS and Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
AAGL’s 24th Advanced Workshop on Gynecologic Laparoscopic Anatomy and Minimally Invasive Surgery with an Emphasis on Laparoscopic Hysterectomy will take place June 14-15, 2024, at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Led by the ever-inspiring Program Chair, Dr. Resad Paya Pasic, and taught by an all-star faculty team, the 2024 Louisville Course is ideal for all gynecologists seeking to develop their laparoscopic skills.
Led by expert MIG surgeons, this two-day course takes participants through extensive didactics and hands-on laparoscopic suturing and cadaveric sessions. The small faculty-to-student ratio allows for no more than three participants to be assigned to each cadaver while being closely supervised by an experienced faculty instructor. Each participant will have the opportunity to operate, assist, and observe in a rotational format to optimize their learning experience and suturing technique. The course will focus on demonstration of pelvic sidewall dissection, localization of the ureter and retroperitoneal blood vessels, preparation for laparoscopic hysterectomy, and laparoscopic cuff closure. It will also focus on pelvic floor reconstruction procedures concomitant to laparoscopic hysterectomy.
This course is approved for up to 16.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. In addition, this course has been approved to meet ABOG Improvement in Medical Practice requirements.
Along with the intensive hands-on training, ample time is built into the course for question-and-answer discussions and reflection, creating a well-rounded, supportive, and thorough education experience. At the conclusion of the course, participants will have a greater understanding of reproducible laparoscopic suturing and demonstrate measurable improvement in suturing skills. They will also be able to identify pelvic anatomy, determine the appropriate use of their newly learned skills in surgery, and appropriately assess for, and manage complications.
For 24 years, the Annual Workshop on MIGS and Laparoscopic Hysterectomy course has trained some of the best surgeons in MIGS. This finely tuned course is one of AAGL’s finest resources for any laparoscopic surgeon seeking to advance in their skills. Registration is now open!
