Motivation Through Results
As surgeons, we realize it takes a significant amount of planning to obtain excellence in the operating room. We create a plan, execute the plan, and achieve superb results because of the work we put in prior to a surgery. This success is a powerful motivator. It makes us want to put in that hard work over and over again to continue to excel.
The Foundation of AAGL is also motivated through results and over the last few years, we have been planning and working diligently toward our goals. Now we are seeing the fruits of our labor pay off for AAGL. Hours upon hours of meetings and in-depth thinking have occurred and the AAGL Foundation is succeeding. Our latest accomplishment is the new website which was just lauched! Our new website provides a platform for the Foundation to thank the generosity of our donors, share the awards (and their winners), communicate our fiduciary well being, and streamline the process for future donations. The website is dynamic and capable of continued expansion. Look for additional features as our budget permits. But we’re not satisfied and ready to rest. This invigorates us to double our efforts.
The Board takes its fiduciary responsibility seriously. We recently reviewed our investments and through a competitive process, selected an investment group to improve the ability for the endowment to grow. This is in conjunction with a detailed budget, investment policies, and spending policies that assure we can be the best stewards of your gifts and maximize the support to AAGL.
If you haven’t already begun your planning to join us in Vancouver for the AAGL 2019 Global Congress, please do so soon and look at the exciting additional tours and events that benefit the Foundation of AAGL. We have set up some exciting tours to allow everyone to take in the incredible vistas of Western Canada along with the local vibe of this incredible city. We expect several of these tours to sell out so please plan accordingly.
In addition to these tours, a thrilling “Casino Royal” experience is planned in conjunction with the Presidential Gala. We hope you will join us for a night of exciting gaming, “shaken, not stirred” drinks, and jovial fellowship with colleagues. We couldn’t accomplish any of these endeavors without the hard work and support of the AAGL staff working in conjunction with the AAGL Foundation Board. These “FUNdraising” events are a way to enjoy philanthropy and hope you will join us.
Your generosity to the Foundation of AAGL is truly making a difference.
