3rd AAGL International Summit on Hysteroscopy: A Revolution in Full Swing
“The hysteroscope is the gynecologist’s stethoscope — how can we practice modern gynecology without it?”
That question set the tone for the 3rd AAGL International Summit on Hysteroscopy, held March 13–14, 2026, at the Renaissance Orlando Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. And if the energy in the room was any indication, the answer was clear: you simply can’t.
Themed Mastering Hysteroscopy: Advanced Techniques for the Modern Gynecologist, this year’s summit delivered on every promise — two action-packed days of clinical excellence, global expertise, passionate debate, and hands-on discovery that sent attendees home inspired and equipped to transform their practices.

A Faculty Unlike Any Other
The summit’s greatest draw was its extraordinary roster of talent. Scientific Program Co-Chairs Linda D. Bradley, MD (Cleveland Clinic), José A. “Tony” Carugno, MD (University of Miami), and Nash S. Moawad, MD, MS (University of Florida), orchestrated a program that drew on a collective 500+ years of faculty expertise. Joining them was a truly international assembly of speakers representing 18 countries — thought leaders from Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Israel, India, the UK, and beyond — whose diverse perspectives elevated every session.
Attendees cherished the rare opportunity for “curbside conversations” with hysteroscopic luminaries they had long admired from afar. These informal exchanges were, for many, among the most memorable moments of the entire event. Reflecting the truly global reach of this meeting, registrants represented 30 countries — a testament to the international stature of the summit and the universal importance of advancing hysteroscopic care.
Two Days of Discovery
The summit opened Friday morning with the all-new Hysteroscopy Innovations Expo 2026 — a dynamic technology showcase featuring live equipment demonstrations by master surgeons, hands-on simulation laboratories, and practical business tools including billing codes, administrative templates, and cost-effectiveness analysis. The Expo set the stage perfectly for the scientific sessions that followed.
Day 1’s program was a masterclass in breadth and depth. Dr. Moawad fired things up with a head-to-head showdown — “Battle of the Techniques: Resectoscopy vs. Retrieval Systems” — before Dr. Kumar’s evocative video montage traced the uterine journey from menarche to menopause. A multi-society guidelines panel brought evidence-based rigor, while the afternoon’s Controversy Corner was the talk of the Summit. Three of the field’s sharpest minds debated the great septum question, the challenge of cesarean scar ectopics, and whether adenomyosis is hysteroscopy’s final frontier — with the audience riveted from start to finish.
The day closed with a festive Welcome Reception along with two industry-sponsored evening symposia that kept the learning — and the conversation — going long after the sun dipped below the Orlando skyline. Not a bad setting for it either, with Florida’s warm March weather making every break and evening gathering feel like a bonus.

Saturday raised the bar even further. Day 2 tackled the full complexity of advanced practice — retained products of conception, fertility-sparing cancer treatment, intrauterine adhesion mastery with fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance, and the nuanced management of the isthmocele. One of the Summit’s most forward-looking moments came with Dr. Haimovich’s session on artificial intelligence in hysteroscopy — a glimpse into a future that feels closer than ever. Dr. Carugno’s perennially popular session on avoiding complications, “Keeping Lawyers & Lifeguards Out of Your OR,” drew knowing laughs alongside serious clinical takeaways. The program closed with the Grand Finale Panel and Co-Chairs casting their gaze toward the horizon in “Crystal Ball Gazing: The Future of Hysteroscopy” — leaving the room buzzing with possibility.
Learning That Sticks
What made this summit stand out was its relentless commitment to interactive learning. Audience-driven Q&A panels, a lively Kahoot-style visual diagnostics challenge (“Do You Have 20/20 HysteroVision?”), real surgical footage from operating rooms around the globe, and a vibrant exhibit hall lunch ensured that passive listening was never an option.
The Takeaway
Attendees left the 3rd AAGL Hysteroscopy Summit not just with new techniques, but with renewed purpose. This was a meeting that reminded every clinician in the room why they chose this work — and challenged them to do it better.
