2027 Board of Directors Call for Nominations

If you are an AAGL member in good standing, have leadership qualities and a heart for service, possess a belief in the influence and effectiveness of the AAGL, and have a passion for empowering progress in MIGS throughout the world, joining one of the AAGL Boards may be the right move for you!
Three AAGL Boards are now, or very soon, accepting nominations for 2027:
Eligibility and instructions on how to apply are described below. All positions begin in January 2027.

- Foundation of the AAGL Board of Directors– Closes August 31, 2026
- Complex Benign Gynecology Fellowship Board of Directors – Open July 2-August 14, 2026
AAGL Board of Directors Call for Nominations
Each year, the AAGL places a call for nominations and elects five new Board members in accordance with the AAGL Bylaws.
The AAGL is currently accepting nominations for the following positions:
Secretary-Treasurer:
The Secretary-Treasurer serves a four-year term ascending from Secretary-Treasurer to Vice-President, President, and Immediate Past-President. Secretary-Treasurer candidates must have served a previous two-year term on the Board of Directors and abide by the zero-tolerance Conflict of Interest Policy established for the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Board Directors:
In addition, nominations are being accepted for four Board Director positions. These positions are two-year terms. Two of the four positions will come from nominations in the General Membership. One Director position will come from the Europe/Middle East/ Africa regions, and one will come from the Canada/USA regions.
How to Apply to the AAGL Board of Directors:
You may submit the name of a peer for nomination, or you may self-nominate. If you self-nominate, please also submit a vision statement (500 word maximum) and your current curriculum vitae to nominations@aagl.org. The deadline for nominations is July 31, 2026, by 11:59pm PDT.

Foundation of the AAGL Call for Nominations
Are you passionate about philanthropy and committed to advancing the mission and vision of the Foundation of the AAGL (FAAGL)?
FAAGL is currently accepting nominations for qualified individuals to serve on the Foundation Board of Directors. Nominees should demonstrate the experience, knowledge, and ability to cultivate donor relationships and strengthen philanthropic support, while contributing value and cohesion to the FAAGL Board of Directors.
The FAAGL Board of Directors advances and supports AAGL initiatives in research, global outreach, recognition of scientific achievement, and mentorship opportunities. By contributing your time, energy, and creativity, you can help strengthen FAAGL’s impact and support the advancement of women’s health worldwide.
FAAGL is currently accepting nominations for the following positions:
Secretary-Treasurer:
Length of Term: The Secretary-Treasurer will serve a total of four (4) years: first, as Secretary-Treasurer; second, as Vice President; third, as President; and fourth, as Immediate Past President. The term of office will commence on January 1st of the subsequent year.
Eligibility: The Secretary-Treasurer nominee must have previously served as a Director on the AAGL Board of Directors or as a Director of the FAAGL Board of Directors.
Directors-At-Large:
Length of Term: Director terms will be three (3) years. A Director may serve for a maximum of two (2) terms as a Director. The term of office will commence on January 1 of the subsequent year.
Eligibility: Eligible nominees for Directors-at-Large are members of the AAGL who are not currently serving on another AAGL Board and have not had more than one prior term of service as Director-at-Large.
Description of Position: A Director-At-Large will attend all FAAGL Board Meetings and be a voting member of the board. As a member of the Foundation Board of Directors, a Director-At-Large will provide oversight of the business and affairs of the Foundation, guide the Foundation to fulfill its mission, participate in fundraising and the promotion of fundraising initiatives, and make such rules and regulations therefore consistent with applicable law, the Articles of Incorporation, and the Bylaws, as they may deem appropriate.

CBG Fellowship Board Call for Nominations – COMING SOON!
The Fellowship call for Board nominations is scheduled to go out July 2nd with a deadline to respond by August 14th. Attached is the description that will be included on the CBGF webpage on July 2nd. In addition, we will also have a call for CBGF committee members on July 2nd.
Secretary-Treasurer – One Position Open
The Secretary-Treasurer shall serve a total of four years: first, as Secretary-Treasurer; second, as Vice President; third, as President; and fourth, as Immediate Past President. The term of office shall commence on January 1st of the subsequent year.
Eligibility: The Secretary-Treasurer nominee must be a current or former Director or Associate Director of a CBGF Program and have served as a member of one or more of the following:
- Board of Directors of the AAGL
- Board of Directors of CBGF
- Board of Directors of the Foundation of AAGL
- JMIG Executive Editorial Board
- SurgeryU Editorial Board
- Chair of an AAGL or CBGF committee or a Special Interest Group
Director-at-Large – Two Positions Open
The Directors-at-Large shall serve for a total of two years. The term of office shall begin on January 1st of the subsequent year.
Eligibility: Eligible nominees for Directors-at-Large are individuals who have an interest in MIGS, are not currently serving on the Board, have not had more than one prior term of service as Director-at-Large, and have never served as an Officer of the CBGF Board.
Fellow Representative – One Position Open
The elected Fellow Representatives shall serve for a total of two years. The term of office shall commence on January 1st of the subsequent year.
Eligibility: Eligible nominees for the Fellow Representatives are CBGF graduates who finished their training within two years before being elected and have never served as an Officer of the CBGF Board.
Ineligibility for all positions: Anyone who has previously served as an elected CBGF Officer is not eligible to be nominated again. Officers of the CBGF Board are those individuals who have been elected to serve on the CBGF Executive Committee (President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, Immediate Past President). Nominees who currently hold other AAGL related major positions on the following Boards: AAGL Board, Foundation of the AAGL Board, JMIG Editorial Board, SurgeryU Editorial Board and the CBGF Board are not eligible to be nominated until their term is over.
How to Apply for the CBG Fellowship Board of Directors:
Nominees are required to provide a current curriculum vitae (CV), a vision statement (not to exceed 500 words) that includes their goals and why they believe they are ideal for this position, and a letter of recommendation. You may submit the name of a peer for nomination, or you may self-nominate. If you self-nominate, you must include the same documentation required above.
