A Historic Transatlantic Collaboration: AAGL and ESGE Unite for First-Ever Joint Virtual Congress
For decades, leaders in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery have advanced innovation, education, and patient care through collaboration within their respective regions. In 2026, that collaboration takes on a new global dimension as two of the world’s most influential societies in MIGS come together for the first time in history.
On June 6, 2026, AAGL and the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) will present Transatlantic Exchanges: Shaping the Future of MIGS — the first-ever joint Virtual Congress developed collaboratively between the organizations. More than a shared educational event, this Virtual Congress represents a milestone in international cooperation and a powerful statement about the future of the specialty. Surgeons across the globe are increasingly learning from one another, sharing techniques, refining technologies, and collectively redefining standards of care.
This collaboration reflects a partnership that has steadily strengthened over recent years. Building upon the successes of our shared webinar series, practice guidelines and representation at each other’s annual Congresses, our joint Virtual Congress elevates the partnership to an entirely new level. This Virtual Congress will feature comprehensive programming, live access for members of both societies, and an international faculty dedicated to exploring the most important advances and challenges facing MIGS today.
The Virtual Congress Scientific Program reflects the full breadth of the specialty, bringing together diverse perspectives, cutting-edge research, and expert discussion from leaders across North America and Europe. Program topics include anatomy, hysteroscopy, oncology, endometriosis, neuropelveology, urogynecology, imaging, and robotics, offering attendees a comprehensive look at the latest advances shaping the future of MIGS.
Participants are invited to visit the Virtual Congress website to explore the program and register (free as a member benefit). Once registered you will be able to attend the full half-day congress or select individual sessions that align with your interests and practice needs. All registrants receive on-demand access to session recordings after the event, enabling continued learning beyond the live program.
Looking beyond June 6, I am equally excited to join our ESGE colleagues later this year at their Annual Meeting in Kraków, Poland — another meaningful opportunity to strengthen these international connections in person. Conversations are also underway regarding a joint meeting in Warsaw in June 2027, where physicians from both societies would once again come together to continue building what I hope will become a lasting and transformative alliance for the future of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
