Advanced Workshop on Gynecologic Laparoscopic Anatomy & Minimally Invasive Surgery

After a two-year hiatus, the 23rd Annual Advanced Workshop on Gynecologic Laparoscopic Anatomy & Minimally Invasive Surgery, Including Laparoscopic Hysterectomy will take place June 24-25, 2022, at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. This extensive two-day course will expose participants to the knowledge and expertise of FMIGS trained laparoscopic surgeons who will guide them through didactics and hands-on laparoscopic suturing and cadaveric sessions. Each participant will have the opportunity to operate, assist, and observe in a rotational format to optimize their learning experience and suturing technique. Designed by Program Chair and Founder, Resad P. Pasic, MD, PhD and supervised by Lab Director, Nash S. Moawad, MD, MS, this course will focus on demonstrations of pelvic sidewall dissection, localization of the ureter and retroperitoneal blood vessels, preparation for laparoscopic hysterectomy, and laparoscopic cuff closure. International Hands-On Intensive Master in Basic and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Anatomy of the Female Pelvis and Techniques

The 3rd ISSA International Hands-On Intensive Master in Basic and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Anatomy of the Female Pelvis and Techniques, a hybrid live and virtual event, will take place in the city of love, beautiful Verona, Italy, July 11th – 14th, 2022. This master class anatomy course is designed for gynecologists, general surgeons, urologists, and pelvic surgeons who perform basic, intermediate, and difficult laparoscopic surgery. Designed by world renown, expert surgeons Marcello Ceccaroni, MD, PhD, and Shailesh Puntambekar, MD, PhD, this course features step-by-step surgical approaches to the pelvic viscera and to the different surgically treatable diseases affecting them, with a particular focus on benign disease, deep infiltrating endometriosis and gynecologic malignancies. Each day, live-surgery sessions will alternate with cadaveric hands-on dissections. In addition, attendees will appreciate theoretical presentations tied to live-surgeries performed by Dr. Ceccaroni, Dr. Puntambekar and other Masters of Surgery. A large set of surgical operations for different pathologies will be shown in live surgery, including simple laparoscopic hysterectomy, the “Pune Technique” radical hysterectomy, and the “Negrar Method” for eradication of deep infiltrating endometriosis with parametrial and rectal resection. Teaching will focus on the correct employment of nerve-sparing principles both in oncologic and benign disease, and on the correct use of energy and techniques.
