Editor-in-Chief Applications Invited
Two of AAGL’s most prestigious and influential positions, the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology (JMIG) Editor-in-Chief (EiC) and SurgeryU Editor-in-Chief (EiC), are now accepting applications. JMIG Editor-in-Chief: Application closes September 30, 2022
The JMIG EiC has the tremendous responsibility of setting the editorial direction of JMIG and has final authority for the selection and quality of all published content. The EiC also oversees the peer-review of all manuscripts and is responsible for structuring and overseeing the performance of the Journal’s Editorial Board. This is a contract position that will serve an initial five-year term and may be invited to serve a second 5-year term, at the discretion of the AAGL Board of Trustees. New to this position, AAGL will also consider applications from potential Co-Editors-in-Chief for JMIG. Co-EiCs will be responsible for demonstrating a harmonious and unified working relationship to congruently manage the responsibilities of the position. With the support of the Editor Search Committee and current EiC, Co-EiCs will be responsible for clearly defining the division of tasks to share the workload of the position.
Applications are now being accepted and are due no later than September 30, 2022. The AAGL JMIG Editor Search Committee will choose the new EiC, or Co-EiCs by early 2023. To ensure continuity of the high quality of JMIG, the newly appointed EiC, or Co-EiCs, will work alongside the current EiC, Tommaso Falcone, MD, during a transition period beginning in mid-2023. The new EiC, or Co-EiCs, will take the reins by January 1, 2024.

SurgeryU Editor-in-Chief: Application closes September 15, 2022
The SurgeryU Editor-in-Chief sets SurgeryU publication standards, oversees the peer review video selection process, and is tasked with publishing the most authoritative, innovative, and highest quality videos on the platform. This is a contracted, 3-year position, with the possibility of an additional 1-year term, at the discretion of the AAGL Board of Trustees. Applications are now being accepted and are due no later than September 15, 2022. The AAGL SurgeryU Editor Search Committee will choose the new EiC by November 2022. To maintain quality continuity, the incoming EiC will work alongside our current SurgeryU EiC, Suketu Mansuria, MD, until the official transition in January 2023.
